Originally from Maryland’s Eastern Shore, Chris discovered his love for golf and turfgrass early, working on the maintenance crew at Prospect Bay Country Club as a teenager. He went on to study Turfgrass Management at Auburn University and received his master's in Turfgrass Science from Penn State. His professional journey includes time at Chevy Chase Club, Kinloch Golf Club, Cattail Creek Country Club, and most recently, Hermitage Country Club outside of Richmond, Virginia.
At Hermitage, he successfully completed a 105-acre conversion to Latitude36 bermudagrass, rebuilt more than 100 bunkers, and directed major irrigation and drainage improvements, all while delivering championship-level playing conditions. Beyond his technical achievements, Chris is widely recognized for his communication skills, innovative use of member engagement platforms, and commitment to building strong, motivated teams. He has been a member of the Mid-Atlantic Association of Golf Course Superintendents for 21 years and was President in 2015.
Chris and his wife Nicole have two daughters, Avery and Amelia and their black lab, Boomer.
